La Campesina de las Riguas

Updated 05/27/25 They still don’t know how to cool eggs to order and today the avocado was much smaller than last week. Coffee is still served warm. - I guess if you’re not familiar with Honduras dishes then it might be okay. I was not impressed with how the pork was cooked for it was very dry. The coffee was cold were the milk was hotter. However it was still cold when combined. My wife didn’t drink it nor did she want me to have them make it hotter. The Watermelon was more water and sugar, I have had better from street venders. The service was good overall. But its more of a tourist restaurant than anything else. But you go and make your own opinion. The bathroom area was very unique. Chickens and ducks walk around underneath the tables.

Hello friends in Honduras, especially in San Pedro Sula.  I visited this restaurant on a Tuesday about 1:30 in the afternoon and it was quite busy.  It was not overcrowded.  You are greeted with quite the intriguing ambience.  You have chickens, ducks and parakeets roaming in this place.  You heard me right live animals in a restaurant setting.  We were approached by our server and she asked what I would like to drink.  I requested barley tea. She said they did not have that, then how about the natural drink made with barley and hops? Or possibly you have bottled bread? No was her response they did not serve any beer.  So I took a natural drink like orange juice or an orange-aid and it was pretty fantastic.  It was not overly sweet.  They have typical Honduran Fair here.  They have the grilled meat plate as well as tamales, pupusas etc etc.  They sale ceramics and knick knacks.  The decor is quaint with some traditional cookware.  Check the pictures.  Overall I do recommend this establishment for both ambience and traditional Honduran cuisine.

Okay where do I even start. If I could I would I wouldnt give this place no stars...The waitress attended everyone else but us and we waited for more than hour just to leave. We waited for our check and she never arrived. The horchata watered down. The food either old or hard. The waitress gave another table their check and never ours and she had such a sour attitude didn't even do a good job. I wouldn't recommend this place unless you want old and harden food.

This place was crazy busy but they managed to get our huge group in pretty quick. Service and food were awesome! All around great place.

Wonderful atmosphere with great tasting traditional food. Love the different animals running around out back. Highly recommend!
